Michelle Kee is a director and writer based out of Vancouver. Graduating from Simon Fraser University (BFA in Film Production), her directing career started by winning the Crazy8s 2014 edition to make her short film, “Mattress”, from shoot to post in 8 days. She then won the competition for Hot Shot Shorts in 2016 getting funding to direct the WWI Musical Short, Send Us Smokes. She was one of fourteen filmmakers chosen for the CBC Arts Diverse Creators Workshop 2016 in Toronto. In 2019, her script, Blood for the Throne, was chosen to be produced for the Kyoto Filmmaker’s Lab at the historic Shochiku Studios in Kyoto. She was part of the 2020’s Vancouver International Film Festival’s Catalyst Mentorship Program. Her latest directorial work is the music video for Autograf + Kyle Reynolds’ Drifting Away which combines her experience as a VFX producer with story-driven visuals. Michelle is an avid student of story structure and studies screenwriting.
